About Bright Star Lighting
Koehler – Bright Star LLC, is member of the Marmon/Berkshire Hathaway group of companies and is located in Hanover Township Pennsylvania, USA. Bright Star was founded in the early 20th century (1909) as a manufacturer of carbon-zinc batteries. In the 1930’s Bright Star transitioned the product offering and became the first manufacturer to introduce a safety flashlight; hence the “First Name in Flashlights”. The flashlights were made from high impact injection-molded plastic which held-up in extreme environments. During that period, our products were the first and only products safety certified by the only approval agency in the US , the Bureau of Mines. Over the decades Bright Star has remained on the leading edge of technology development for lighting products used in hazardous locations. Our plastic resins are custom blended for enhanced durability and safety levels; our patented optics create custom beam patterns, and our patent pending power control facilitates safe charge and discharge for Lithium-Ion batteries. Bright Star products are designed and manufactured in the US and have attained the highest global safety ratings including ISO-9001 registration. The Bright Star product line consists of Intrinsically Safe hand held lighting for use in extreme environments and is sold through our global distributor network.
