About Brinkers Food
Brinkers Food was founded by Bernardus in 1889 and was originally a small trading company, specialised in the distribution of margarine, in those days a new product used as a replacement for the much more expensive butter. Shortly after the second world war, one of Brinkers’ sons started a new venture introducing a brand new product: a chilled chocolate butter, Choba. This product was basically the first chocolate spread ever on the market and even today, Choba is still a very well-known product on the Dutch market. Later on, already in the early sixties, Choba was followed by Nusco, the now classic hazelnut chocolate spread. For the past 25 years, the company is managed by the fourth generation Brinkers: a highly experienced management team, together with a very committed and loyal work-force, ready to face all the new challenges the food industry will experience in the years to follow. Brinkers' goal is very clear: to further build a successful family-business, based on flexibility, quality, sustainability and a no-nonsense management style.
