We provide heritage and archaeological assessments, heritage statements, environmental, heritage and archaeological impact assessments, archaeological mitigation strategies, cultural heritage research and reports, archaeological written schemes of investigation (WSIs) for a wide range of programmes of archaeological fieldwork, archaeological project management and post-excavation services. We have particular expertise in the archaeology and heritage of Bristol, Bath, Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Somerset, BANES and the surrounding counties, with over 25 years experience in this area. Established by former Cotswold Archaeology Head of Fieldwork Simon Cox in 2018, Bristol & Bath Heritage Consultancy (BBHC) provides a range of services both directly to developers requiring heritage and archaeology input prior to, or during, the planning process, and sub-contract services to other archaeological and heritage organisations. We offer pragmatic and practical advice on heritage issues, based upon accumulated knowledge and experience. We can provide, or procure and oversee, the full range of archaeological and heritage services to ensure you get the best advice and value. We can hep you procure and manage all forms of archaeological fieldwork, from fieldwalking and geophysical survey to geoarchaeological borehole surveys, archaeological evaluation trial trenching, watching brief, and strip map and sample/record/archaeological excavation. We are also able to assist in the procurement of a range of built heritage services, including historic building assessment and recording, including photographic surveys, laser scanning and photogrammetry. We are highly experienced in negotiating an appropriate scope of work with Local Authorities on behalf of a wide range of clients, from developers to heritage organisations.
