About Brooks Ecological
Brooks Ecological Ltd is a well-established ecological consultancy located in Leeds. We work with a wide range of clients from local authorities, house builders, schools, charities and householders. Our work includes Phase I Habitat surveys, protected species surveys, BREEAM, Management Plans, Habitat Creation plans, Invasive species assessments, Arboricultural Surveys, tree climbing surveys and Natural England licencing. Our staff are highly trained and professional and always ready to offer advice. Staff undertake regular training in all aspects of ecology, tree surveys, health and safety, biosecurity and sustainability. We ensure our suppliers are aware of and follow our policies including health and safety and biosecurity to ensure we are working together efficiently. We provide valuable training to a wide range of students through our Seasonal Surveyors Scheme. This often leads to further paid work at the company or elsewhere due to the skills and experience gained in a variety of areas including amphibian, reptile and bat surveys. We are heavily involved in the local community, undertaking regular woodland management at Lineham Farm, a community farm in Eccup and Parkinson's Park, a local community space where one of our staff members has regular involvement in the committee, management and conservation of the park for the local community. Our staff also undertake voluntary work outside of work hours in areas of personal interest. We ensure that we have a wide outlook on environmental issues and sustainability with a comprehensive Environmental policy which is embedded in our company and everything we do. This ranges from where we source our office products to investment in electric vehicles. We are also highly aware of the issue of Biosecurity, with a comprehensive system of checks embedded within our systems of work. All staff are trained and ensure they are aware of changes in policy and technology.
