About Brotoloc South
Brotoloc was founded in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in 1964 by a small group of forward thinking psychiatric professionals as an alternative to hospitalization for persons with severe and chronic mental illness. The name “Brotoloc” is actually an acronym for the four founders: Brousseau, Tobin, Lorenz, and Connor. Since those pioneering days, we have grown in both the scope of our services and the breadth of our expertise. While keeping our commitment to the provision of services to persons with histories of unsuccessful community placements and long term institutionalization, we have built a reputation for professionalism in the areas of mental illness, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and multiple diagnosis. Our state-wide team of professionals includes medical doctors, psychologists, therapists, educators, social workers, nurses, and a host of highly trained paraprofessional staff. Today, Brotoloc provides support to over 400 persons around Wisconsin through contracts with over 50 county human service agencies, the state of Wisconsin, and a variety of private agencies and individuals.
