About Brushstrokes Courses

Brushstrokes Courses was founded by fully qualified teacher and artist, Laura Truesdale. Laura has accumulated over ten years of experience of teaching art from having worked in: rehabilitation services, community services, charities, state schools, local franchises and in art studios. Laura gained her BA in Art from the University of Reading in 2013 and went onto to achieve her PGCE in Secondary School Art Teaching in 2016. Since receiving Qualified Teacher Status in 2017, she has taught in the local community, before establishing Brushstrokes Courses in January 2020. Brushstrokes ran it’s first course on the theme of ‘Portraiture’ in February 2020. Due to Coivd-19 restrictions, Brushstrokes created an online art course on the theme of ‘Interior & Exterior’ which ran for 6 weeks, starting August 2020. Since then, Brushstrokes Courses continues to run online courses as well as live online 1:1 Tuition. Brushstrokes Courses provide students with high quality teaching, helps build creative confidence and equips students with a varied technical skill set. Each Brushstrokes student is given full feedback and support, in order for them to grow whilst exploring their own artistic identity and practice.
