About BSES
BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) are a joint venture between Reliance Infrastructure Limited and Govt of NCT of Delhi with a 51%:49% shareholding. BSES discoms, together, supply electricity to two-thirds of the national capital. Spread across a geographical area of around 950 sq kms, the company supplies reliable electricity to over 4.2 million consumers, covering a population base of over 10.6 million in South, West Delhi, East and Central Delhi. Since inception, BSES has taken a lead in adopting the best in class technologies and successfully brought down the losses from more than 55 % in 2002 (at the time of privatization) to the current level of below 9% - a reduction of over 45%. Today, BSES operates and manages one of the most advanced distribution networks in India to deliver reliable and quality electric supply to customers spread across its service territory. To achieve this objective, BSES has invested over Rs 8000 crore to upgrade and modernise the distribution network.
