In a world overrun with materialism, mass production and waste, returning to a handcrafted life offers peace and purpose. The defining change that sets us apart from nature is our ability to make and use tools. Throughout our evolution we have mastered this skill and it has become an integral part of our identities and survival. However, this ability is slowly dying in todays world, people are separated from this creative process more than ever. By returning to the creation and use of meticulously crafted tools we are able to once again take deep satisfaction in our lives and work. BTR Custom tools embody both art and function. A background in both fine art and mechanical engineering results in unique products that are both beautiful and highly effective. BTR Custom work is able to withstand the most intense use in the most adverse conditions while also working as the centerpiece of the mantel. If a piece ever malfunctions or fails in use, it will be fixed or replaced. All of my work is crafted by hand and is brutally tested before being allowed out of the workshop. My work is not crafted with the intention of turning a profit. Instead, I seek to better both my own life and the life of the user through the creative process. I believe that the creation of art should not be viewed as a business, but as a means of bringing peace to the soul of the maker as well as the user.
