We support and fund opportunities and endeavors that build a bridge between ALL viable forms of cancer research and treatment - natural, holistic AND conventional to provide greater comfort to cancer patients during treatment while working toward a cure. We do this by 1) funding research into integrative therapies such as acupuncture, nutrition, and medical marijuana, 2) awarding educational grants to students pursuing a degree in integrative medicine or an integrative therapy and 3) providing much-needed goods like warm socks, water bottles, warm blankets and COVID-19 care packages in 2020, to local cancer patients as part of our community outreach program, Warm Hugs from BUCK! Between 2016-2020, we have granted over $30,000 and 1) awarded four tuition-assistance grants to students studying acupuncture and integrative medicine, 2) awarded four medical research grants; on yoga and radiation, acupuncture in the hospital, tai chi and joint pain and mercury toxicity and 3) “hugged” over 700 cancer patients through our Warm Hugs from BUCK program.
