About Bud Development Limited

Why are we here? We facilitate leadership programmes and team events to enable people to achieve exceptional things together. Kate Tapper founded Bud Development in 2008. Since then we have worked with people from over 80 universities in the UK, as well as organisations in the education, charity and research and enterprise sectors. Why are we here? Because sharing ideas and working together is challenging. Collaboration is essential for finding answers to complex problems and yet it can be a difficult process to work with others in this way. We facilitate collaboration by creating spaces for people to think clearly and explore effectively together. We support leaders to work with curiosity, compassion and courage to enable collaboration too. How do we work? Whilst collaborative working requires attention to structures and processes, it is most often the human concerns and social interactions that prove most inhibiting. We therefore focus our work on these areas. Our approach to leadership development begins with curiosity; leaders seeking to understand and discover answers to the real challenges that they face. It promotes compassion towards ones self and others, appreciating our human struggles and accepting that we do not work in an emotional vacuum. It leads to leaders becoming more courageous and confident to choose to do what is right rather than what is easy. When we facilitate team working we seek to understand what each unique group of people is trying to achieve together and what holds them back. We create ways of exploring and thinking together to step aside the usual patterns and find new light on a subject. Participants find this a very enjoyable and fruitful experience that accelerates their work on a subject, clarifies strategic priorities and renews focus and energy.
