Buddies for All CIC is a buddying service launched in 2021 that connects adults who are deaf and disabled with volunteer Buddies. Through online, telephone, and face-to-face support, we create lasting friendships that reduce social isolation, improve well-being, and help individuals engage more fully with their community. Our service is led by disabled people and prioritises inclusivity, accessibility, and meaningful connections. Our mission To enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of disabled people by connecting them with compassionate Buddies who offer support, friendship, and access to community activities. We strive to reduce loneliness, alleviate social isolation. Buddies support disabled people via the telephone or video platforms such as Zoom or Google Meet. This provides the disabled person and the buddy with the maximum flexibility to access our service using their preferred method of communication. Buddies also offer in-person face-to-face support for individuals who wish to access their local community to attend their favourite sporting or cultural events with the support of a volunteer buddy. We match our volunteer buddies with our beneficiaries based on their likes, dislikes and interests to enable both parties to develop an organic relationship and support each other equally. Social activities could include: • Going for a walk • Meeting for a coffee • Going to a concert • Going to the theatre • Going to a football match or other sporting event • Going to the cinema • Going out to eat • Going to the pub • Having a night out • Going clothes shopping / enjoying retail experiences together • Going to museums and galleries • Going to the Gym This list is not exhaustive and activities are mutually decided
