About Bugman

Insect protein offers an important sustainable solution for the food system, both within the supply chain and in society, with a focus on global food security, healthy nutrition, and high-quality proteins. It also supports nature and our planet by helping to protect natural resources from pollution caused by humans. In this way, we bring the food chain for humans, animals, and nature into a more balanced and sustainable harmony. Inspired in 2013 by the philosophy of my role models, founders, and mentors from Wageningen, the international insect protein sector was established – in collaboration with VENIK, the International Platform of Insects for Food and Feed (IPIFF), Wageningen University (WUR), the Dutch Insect Coalition (Insectencoalitie NL), NGN, and the Network for Insect Knowledge (NIK). THE MISSION – FROM BEAH! TO YEAH! BUGMAN founded in 2022, As an Insect Food Storyteller, ambassador of the insect protein sector, and specialist in entomophagy gastronomy, I focus on the culinary and nutritional possibilities of insect proteins for human consumption. My mission is to make this ancient, sustainable, and innovative healthy food accessible and appealing, and to spread the story from BEAH! to YEAH! to consumers, businesses, and organizations. With a mix of entertainment, creativity, and science, at BUGMAN we give education programs, workshops, business inspiration sessions, demo masterclasses to business. consumers, organisations, education institutes to show how this sustainable protein source can play an essential role in the future of our food.
