About Build Community
A woman-owned business based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Build Community partners with community based organizations and their stakeholders to build vibrant, healthier, equitable communities. We are a multifaceted group of seasoned researchers, community planners, and capacity-builders that use community and stakeholder research to drive action planning, policy change, and collective impact. We specialize in community health needs assessments and have conducted more than 250 CHNAs in communities across the nation, partnering with hospitals and health systems, public health and government entities, social service providers, senior living, housing, faith communities, higher education, businesses, and thousands of their community partners to collect information to reimagine policies and achieve realistic, measurable social impact. We use quantitative and qualitative research methods to collect essential information that informs strategies to reduce health and socioeconomic disparities, build capacity, direct population health initiatives, and advance health and social equity. We specialize in transforming research into action through strategic planning, policy change, and collective impact. Bringing diverse backgrounds in social justice work, we deeply understand the intertwined and reciprocal impact of social drivers of health and structural inequities on documented disparities. Using community based participatory research practices, we invite wide participation to both define and solve challenges with the people who experience them. Sharing lived experiences fosters understanding and enables communities to shine a light on deep-seeded inequities, the first step in making lasting change.
