About Building Brighter

The driving force behind Building Brighter is the merging of two exciting and fast-growing industries, the tiny house movement and the renewable energy and sustainability sector. These, together, provide a solution for one of our most pressing concerns—the homelessness epidemic in the United States. No one should suffer the indignity of being on the streets. Despite living in the wealthiest country on the planet, jobs are hard to come by, house prices remain high, and rents have soared since the crash of 2008. We've studied the tiny house and micro-dwelling communities springing up in other parts of the country and analyzed how they were organizing, setting up, and being financed. After talking to experts, specialists, fundraisers, contractors, and a number of government entities, we decided to combine the best of those models to help those in need of shelter in our communities across the northeast. Our goal is to partner with many amazing local organizations and businesses to help end homelessness in New England by 2025. Check back often as we will see big milestones both in our funding campaign and in the permitting process for our inaugural tiny home community!
