Bulk Materials International (BMI) is one of the leading suppliers of products and services to the cement industry. Our company was founded in 1986 by two executives from the chemical and cement industries, who brought to the company a wealth of experience and technical expertise. They were quick to capitalize on the advantages of sourcing raw materials internationally and began importing raw materials, such as gypsum from Spain, for cement manufacturers on the U.S. East Coast. Since our inception, we have enjoyed steady growth and expansion, fueled by a focus on the needs of the cement industry. Today we are one of the leading global suppliers of raw materials, shipping more than four million tons per year. We are also one of the industry’s primary sources of market information, technical support and services, with full logistics capabilities, including shipping, rail, barge transportation and trucking. BMI offers more than 20 products, ranging from iron oxide, to alumina products, to coal ashes and gypsum, and is one of the largest global suppliers of granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS). Our team has decades of cement industry experience, serving customers around the world from several U.S. regional offices, including our headquarters in Newtown, Connecticut, and a growing network of offices in Italy, the Middle East, and Singapore.
