About Bunk

Bunk is a lifestyle brand bringing together a global community of creative travellers and locals alike. In our monumental churches, you’ll find a cross between a hostel, a hotel, a restaurant, a coworking space, an art gallery and a cultural event venue. Our mission is “communal wonderment:” our spaces and events are designed to encourage the sharing of stories, ideas and art in all its forms; to make anyone with something to tell and a desire to discover the most unique and bizarre the local scene has to offer feel at home. Not only we organise free events every week for guests and locals, we also have an Artist-in-Residence program and even a make a fully-equipped recording studio available for free at our monumental church in Amsterdam. In 2020, following the success of Bunk Utrecht, which opened in 2019 and won Hostelworld’s Hoscar for "extraordinary innovation" the same year, Bunk Amsterdam opened in Amsterdam’s up-and-coming Noord district. Our commitment and attention to detail is time-consuming. That’s why we choose to grow slowly but steadily. And this is a persistent devotion: we are always eager to create more Bunk. We develop and operate made-to-measure hotels with personality in metropolitan destinations with a vibrant spirit. Our specialty is the conversion of monumental buildings: schools, churches, industrial warehouses, monasteries and other cultural heritage sites. We fully devote ourselves to creating unique destinations with a soul, shaped by local art, culture and stories of their historic surroundings. As we dream big, we always try to stay true to our core values of honesty and openness.
