Introduction: Buraaq Capital was established to provide Islamic Investment Management and Capital Raising services. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, our primary client focus are Muslims who wish to engage in investment and capital raising transactions in a manner that is consistent with their Islamic faith. We also target clients that have an interest in our Shariah approach to financial activities. Vision: Our vision is to be consistent and uncompromised when executing our business model of becoming a global provider of Islamic Investment Services. Mission: Generate real returns for our clients by investing with an emphasis on high moral and ethical values. Business Overview: The Islamic Asset Management Industry has enormous growth potential. Globally, the Islamic assets-under-management is currently close to 2 trillion USD, with annual growth expectation of 16%. Islamic Assets are under 5% of conventional global assets under management. Islamic- assets in South Africa comprises 21 funds equalling 66 USD. South Africa has been performing extremely well when taking into account that their Muslim population is only 2%. South African Muslims are a vibrant and dynamic community. Muslims are involved and excel in every sphere of business, government and education. For a majority non-Muslim country, South Africa is pegged in the top ten in terms of Global Islamic Assets-Under-Management. It is estimated that only 10 to 15 % of the Muslim population of South Africa are utilising or are exposed to Islamic Financial Services in one way or another.
