About Burmantofts Community Friends
Burmantofts Community Friends is a working name for Burmantofts Senior Action, charity number 1175661. Part of the neighbourhood network scheme, primarily funded by Leeds City Council. We support older age people (60+, soon to be 55+) with regular social opportunities and early intervention community care. We are a small local lead charity providing opportunities for engagement and support to local residents of LS9, East Leeds. Staff team are Project Manager, Service Coordinator, Wellbeing Worker, Project Administrator, Volunteer Coordinator and Outreach/Digital Engagement Worker. We have 10 key objectives: 1. Relieve social isolation and loneliness. 2. Identify gaps in provisions for support. 3. Support older people to live independently. 4. Promote social inclusion for all communities. 5. Improve digital inclusion and access to support. 6. Try to improve the environment where older people live. 7. Be an open and friendly place for local people to drop in. 8. Reduce the burden on NHS services with early intervention community care. 9. Work with partner organisations who bring additional resources to our area. 10. Be a force for good, championing the wishes and needs of older people.
