About Business for Life
Our goal is to create a network of SBM students, alumni and professionals. We focus our activity on the next three elements: - Organising SBM Talks, company visits, workshops, seminars and many more. SBM alumni and other "science and business management" experts talk about their experiences, career and future prospects. These events are of major interest not only for SBM students, but also for every person that wants to improve their knowledge about the differents departments and innovation process phases within the science-based industry: Technology transfer, investment, marketing, strategic management or entrepreneurship are some of the topics treated during these activities. - Organising social events We organise barbecues, borrels and all kind of social events so as to form an open community and provide network opportunities. - Spreading relevant news in the field through our social networks (facebook and linkedin). Although we are located in Utrecht, our mid-term objective is to progressively increase our area of influence and, in a few years, reach a national scope. *SBM master is aimed to students with a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences who are interested in a business career. In the SBM programme, students build on their academic background in science while adding knowledge of business processes and practical skills for commercial settings. Companies and institutions need professionals with the skills to manage and market knowledge-intensive products, as well as professionals with a solid understanding of the scientific principles underlying products and processes.
