We understand Dogs! Dogs learn best and become the most confident through direct interactions with one another, their environment, and humans. Our group socialization walks provide structured doggy/doggy interactions, doggy/human interactions, and doggy/environmental interactions, allowing dogs to learn from one another and their professional dog walker. Throughout the walk, we practice general situations of common encounters dogs frequently experience, such as walking calmly under the loud train tracks in Astoria or walking confidently past a person on a skateboard without barking. Through the use of positive reinforcement and reading the body language and calm demeanor of more mature dogs in the pack, under-socialized dogs learn how to appropriately respond to various environmental stimuli. Just like anything else in Dog Training, we believe in progressive exposure and gradual acclimation to stimuli. When enrolling your pup in our daily socialization walks, your dog is doing much more than going on a quick bathroom relief walk. About B&W Buster and Whiskers is a local Dog Walking Service incorporated in Astoria, NY. We are fully insured by PetCare Insurance and all of our Dog Walkers are Red Cross Pet First Aid Certified. Our Dog Handlers undergo background checks and have extensive hands-on training in dog handling and dog behavior. Our goal is to safely exercise and socialize your dog, giving you freedom, time, and assurance of a happy, well-balanced pup.
