About Bygg Architecture & Design

We are architects and designers, we are Dutch, French, and Polish: Bygg Architecture & Design is the name of our collaboration. We started with the development of Plug-in-City Eindhoven, a self-built city in motion, where we are based now, in Strijp-S. We deal with complex spatial matters and we design in dialogue with the territory and we engage with its social structure. We question the temporality of our interventions and their life cycles. We support the transformation of our design through time, either to adapt to the change of the local community or to serve another purpose elsewhere. We work toward circular solutions, second-hand materials as a resource, modularity, interchangeability and collaboration as a tool. We involve our extensive network of like-minded professionals: makers, designers and researchers. We are Tim Kouthoofd (architect), Ivo Hulskamp (spatial designer), Piotr Szczesniak (architect), Raphaël Coutin (social designer), and Hanna Lennart (architect). We approach projects holistically. We can operate very flexibly and we can handle projects of any size and within any time frame.
