The Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions, at Georgia State University, prepares the next generation of clinicians and scholars who collectively enhance individual and community health in a culturally diverse society. The school offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in clinical health informatics, nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and respiratory therapy, from bachelor’s to master’s to doctorates including Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Nursing Practice and Doctor of Philosophy in nursing. Since 1968, the school has produced more than 6,300 nurses, nurse practitioners, educators and researchers. In addition, the school has graduated more 5,000 allied health care professionals. Graduates of these programs typically boast 90% or higher pass rates on the required professional registration examinations and hold pass rate averages that are 15% to 20% higher than the national average. Georgia State University, located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, is the Southeast's leading urban research institution. It is on the list of the top 100 public universities for doctoral degrees awarded.
