About C & B Material Handling
C & B’s journey began in 1988 in Gettysburg, South Dakota, where childhood friends Rod Burwell and Dan Cronin purchased the local John Deere dealership to support the farmers, ranchers and local community. While C & B’s initial focused was on the agriculture division, the strategic vision expanded through the acquisitions into the material handling and powersports industries. In 2021, C & B expanded into the Material Handling and Powersports division with material handling locations in Iowa, Louisiana, and Alabama and one powersports location in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Growing again in 2022, C & B acquired material handling locations in Montana and Alabama and opened a new location in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. To conclude the tremendous growth of 2022, C & B also acquired Jefferds Corporation and Homestead Materials Handling Company of Virginia and West Virginia bringing the total number of material handling locations up to twenty. We now proudly serve over 26% of the counties in the U.S.A. in the material handling industry in 18 locations in Iowa, Louisiana, Alabama, Virginia, West Virginia, Montana, and South Dakota. In addition, we proudly serve the Spirit Lake area with our Powersports location. Under the leadership of Rod Burwell’s sons—Peter, Blake, and Michael—we continue to uphold our legacy of quality, service, and innovation while serving customers nationwide.
