Chai and Chit Chat (C3) is more than a community. It is a movement of connection, celebration, and empowerment for women in North Dallas and beyond. Founded in 2021 by visionary leader Mercy Strickland, C3 began as a simple potluck gathering and has grown into a thriving 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with over 6,000 members and nearly 70 active subgroups. At C3, we believe in the power of shared experiences, professional engagement, and collective growth. Guided by our motto “Fostering Friendship, Building Community, and Uplifting Together,” we bring together women from diverse professional, cultural, and personal backgrounds to share their passions, expand their skills, navigate challenges, and celebrate life’s milestones. We are a 100% volunteer-run community in the DFW area, dedicated to encouraging and empowering women in tech and supporting the local software developer community through meetups, workshops, an active Discord community, learning cohorts, and more. Our primary focus is to provide as much value and as many resources as possible to help women build thriving careers in technology. We are a group made by women, for women with a commitment to mentorship, skills development, and leadership growth. Our Leadership Mercy Strickland’s compassionate leadership has been the driving force behind C3’s success. Her journey, marked by resilience, vision, and a courageous move across the Atlantic, is a testament to her commitment to creating a safe haven where women can find both personal and professional support. Beyond her organizational efforts, Mercy has been an unwavering advocate for women facing domestic or career challenges, connecting them to resources, mentorship, and empowerment programs that help them rebuild their lives.
