About Cain Fine Art
Founded by Sara Cain in 2016, Cain Fine Art is an Art Advisory and Appraisal firm assisting clients with fine art appraisals, building art collections, and art collection management. Sara is an Accredited Member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA) and is a USPAP compliant appraiser. Sara is vetted by the AAA as a specialist in 19th & 20th Century American Art, Post-War & Contemporary Art, and Emerging Art. Cain Fine Art consults with national and international galleries and auction houses, helping clients build art collections from beginning to end and manage their portfolios. Cain Fine Art prepares appraisals according to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), the highest standards for personal property appraisal. Always confidential and independent, Cain Fine Art's appraisals are accepted by insurance companies, the IRS, attorneys, banks, trust companies, and non-profit organizations. Cain Fine Art ensures USPAP appraisal standards are met regarding competency, ethics and methodology, documentation, market analysis and record keeping. Sara earned both her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts in painting, from Southern Methodist University and Hunter College, New York, respectively. She holds her Certificate of Appraisal Studies in Fine and Decorative Art from New York University and the Appraisers Association of America. She has been in the business of art for nine years and has extensive art market experience in her role as both appraiser and advisor. Sara has worked for the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Joan B. Mirviss Ltd., New York, and Sotheby’s, New York, and she performed fine art appraisal and brokerage services for an art management firm in Houston before founding Cain Fine Art in 2016.
