Cal in the Capital (CITC) is a student-led internship program housed in the Public Service Center that supports UC Berkeley undergraduate students in securing public service internships in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1965, CITC has served as UC Berkeley's premier public service internship program, connecting students with pathways to impactful leadership in Washington, DC. As of its 60th year in 2025, 4,321 Cal in the Capital interns have contributed 1,838,889 hours of service in over 400 professional settings, including Congressional offices, federal and other government agencies, think tanks, nonprofit organizations, and private companies.
