About Cal Poly CSA
Chinese Students' Association (CSA) is a non-profit organization on Cal Poly San Luis Obispo's campus. We are proud to be one of the oldest and largest cultural clubs. One of the main goals of CSA is to create a home away from home by providing social opportunities for all types of people with diverse interests. With a desire to share Chinese culture with Cal Poly and the greater San Luis Obispo community, CSA makes a great effort to bring people together. Chinese Students' Association hosts various events for our members and the public every weekend of the school year. A few of our main events include Ultraman, Winter Formal, Chinese New Year Banquet, and Sunfest--please see our website, http://csa.calpoly.edu/, for more information. In addition, we have two performing groups, CSA's Lion Dance Team and Take Out Kidz. Both groups practice countless hours per week. Our Lion Dance Team is an affiliated group that teaches many people about multiple facets of Chinese tradition. It is the only Lion Dance Team found in central California. They perform throughout the year for different events around the coast. Anyone is welcome to join the team and learn more about traditional lion dance. Our non-audition hip-hop dance group, Take-Out-Kidz (TOK), compromises of people who wants to learn, dance, and have fun. Take Out Kidz has a vision of giving everyone in CSA the opportunity to dance and express their love for music. CSA’s TOK works hard to learn different dance styles and expand their knowledge of hip-hop culture. TOK looks for anyone with the slightest interest in dancing, with or without experience, and give them a chance to practice and perform with one another.
