About California College Guidance Initiative

The California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI), which manages CaliforniaColleges.edu, is a legislatively authorized service provider to all California school districts as established in California Education Code Section 60900.5. CaliforniaColleges.edu is California’s state-funded, comprehensive, digital platform with the tools students need to develop their college and career plans, available at no cost to students, educators, and parents/guardians in public school districts. CaliforniaColleges.edu allows students to benefit from CCGI’s data partnerships with the California public colleges and the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) as well as with school districts. CaliforniaColleges.edu also offers college and career planning resources, providing students with one place where students can document their college and career planning journey from exploration to application tracking. High school students in Partner Districts can access tools on CaliforniaColleges.edu that are based on their individual student transcripts. These unique tools permit students to view their eligibility for admission, as well as connect their applications and student transcript information, to the three California public college systems. CCGI works with over 300 Partner Districts that enroll more than two million 6th-12th grade students in California public schools. By combining statewide infrastructure and local implementation, we provide support to our K-12 Partner Districts with the goal of advancing equitable student outcomes across the state. We work directly with our K-12 Partner Districts to improve data systems, build capacity, and provide data-driven tools to students, counselors, educators, and administrators.
