Both Associations are non-profit trade Associations and are supported by an ann ual voluntary dues assessment per bale produced (Growers) and per bale ginned (Ginners). The Ginners Association’s membership includes all of the 24 ginning firms currently doing business in California. These 24 organizations will operate 37 cotton gins during the 2013 season. The membership of the Growers Association currently produces 100% of the total cotton produced in California. The total number of cotton growers is estimated to be approximately 750 statewide.
