Calpath is an independent private pathology laboratory that has been providing diagnostic surgical pathology and cytology services to outpatient office locations and surgery centers in Northern California for more than three decades. Our physicians are also the exclusive providers of anatomic and clinical pathology services for Good Samaritan Hospital, an ACOS-accredited Comprehensive Community Cancer Care Center. Decades of providing both outpatient and inpatient pathology services have given us a collective expertise in diagnosis of common and unusual disease processes from virtually every organ system. Our pathologists are all Board Certified in Anatomic Pathology, and hold subspecialty Board Certifications in Clinical Pathology, Cytopathology, Dermatopathology, and Hematopathology. Our dedicated staff works throughout the night, allowing us to process biopsy specimens the same day they are received and render diagnoses on most cases within 24 hours. All challenging cases and diagnoses of malignancy are routinely reviewed at our daily consensus conference, where up to six pathologists will consult on individual cases. This 'built in second opinion' allows us to produce consistent, accurate results and provide useful insight into challenging cases.
