Calport has operated in Perth for over 40 years. Previously owned by a large PLC company, the business was purchased in 2008. The change in ownership has given the business the much needed hands on, fast acting and forwarding thinking local management team to support the operations of the company and provide an improved and adaptable service in the hands of local Managing Director, Ross Howie. Calport offers a complete shipping service, ships agency, port-handling and stevedoring operations, along with extensive covered and open-storage facilities all based within Perth Harbour. The Perth facilities include 120,000 sq ft of indoor storage, consisting of segregated 1,000 tonne bays for bulk cargoes and laydown areas for bagged cargoes. With further plans to build extra sheds with a total capacity of 8,000 tonnes. As an integral part of the supply chain Calport has the capabilities and facilities to handle commodities for the construction and waste industries and provides a valuable gateway for the import and export of cargoes such as fishmeal, maize, farm cereals, recycled wood, timber, paper and aggregates. We are a local company and take great pride in our proven and audited track records of handling customer's products in a safe, professional and timely manner. Based in Central Scotland, we have one of the most inland ports in Europe - at 22 miles from the sea. The port is the ideal logistics and distribution hub with 70% of Scotland's population within one hour's drive. with our unrivaled connectivity the port can handle commodities by either vessel, container or bulk tipping trailers. Through our supply chain we provide our customers a diverse range of services and we serve as a logistical gateway to all Scotland's main conurbations.
