About Cambridge Jazz Festival, Community Interest Company

The Cambridge Jazz Festival UK was founded as a Not-For-Profit Community Interest Company to bring live jazz and educational workshops to the community. It's run by volunteers and was founded by members of the community who are all passionate about jazz, bringing the finest artists with live music and workshops to Cambridge for all ages and abilities and in nurturing the next generation of jazz and improvisational artists. There are over 20 volunteers and over 20 partners (including Cambridge Modern Jazz Club, The Cambridge Junction, Cambridge Live, Anglia Ruskin University and The University of Cambridge) and members of the committee include: Roslin Russell Co-Founder & CIC Director Production & Music Programming Martin Hallmark Co-Founder & CIC Director Production & Music Programming John Blandford CIC Director, Production & Music Programming Gil Karpas CIC Director, Production & Music Programming Gavin Spence Co-founder & Community Projects Co-ordinator Ruth Fisher (Jazz FM) Board Member, Music Programming Kevin Flanagan Music Programming & Fringe Artists Co-ordinator Vij Prakash Music Programming, Educational Programme Manager & CYJO Co-ordinator Harry Knight Production & Technical Coordinator Becky Mann PR & Marketing Matt Clark Media Art & Graphics - Champion our regional artists and showcase them alongside headline acts. - Bring together jazz communities from town, schools and the Universities in joint projects and performances. - Celebrate and encourage the multiple genres of jazz and breaks down musical boundaries. - Encourage and support awareness and teaching of jazz in local schools and inspire the next generation of musicians - Provide talks, educational workshops and masterclasses for both children and adults. - Commission and perform new and original music. - Encourage and support collaborations with other arts media, science and technology.
