About Camp Alima
Camp Alima is a student-led initiative empowering high school girls in Morocco to explore STEM and grow as leaders. Started by a few university students in the U.S., Camp Alima held its first camp in 2019. Since then, it has grown into an annual program, supported entirely by student and early-career volunteers from across the U.S., Canada, and Morocco. Each year, our team designs and delivers a week-long, in-person camp filled with hands-on workshops, collaborative learning, and mentorship. Campers build confidence, curiosity, and community in science, technology, engineering, and math, all in an environment that reflects their potential and celebrates their voice. Our volunteers work year-round to bring the camp to life. From curriculum and logistics to outreach and digital tools, every part of Camp Alima is created and led by a dedicated team working across time zones and backgrounds. Camp Alima is more than a camp. It is a growing platform for future changemakers to discover what’s possible when they lead with passion, knowledge, and community.
