About Camp Mcdowell
We are the camp and conference center for the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Alabama. Since 1923, people of all faiths and backgrounds have used our facilities to rest, learn, grow, worship, and play. Camp McDowell is better known as "God's Backyard." Situated on 1,140 acres of forests and fields with breathtaking canyons and waterfalls, camp has something for everyone. Let us host your conference, or come enjoy summer camp for children, environmental education for school groups, and the Folk School's art and music workshops for adults.
