About Canadian Academy of Psychiatric Epidemiology / Académie Canadienne d'Épidémiologie Psychiatrique

CAPE-ACEP was created by a multidisciplinary group of researchers and teachers who recognized the need for greater communication among people sharing an interest in psychiatric epidemiology, but working in different parts of the country. A second goal was to bring the usefulness of epidemiological findings and methods to the attention of clinicians, policy makers, service administrators and scientific investigators throughout the mental health field. Thus, it was thought that the membership would be composed of both producers and consumers of epidemiological research. A third goal was to improve the quality of training in psychiatric epidemiology offered to residents and graduate students in Canadian training centres.
