About Canadian Home Builders' Association Central Interior
The Canadian Home Builders’ Association Central Interior (CHBA CI) is the regional voice of the residential construction industry across BC’s Central Interior and East Kootenay. As part of a three-tier association—local (CHBA CI), provincial (CHBA BC), and national (CHBA)—we are connected to a powerful network that advocates for housing policies, supports industry innovation, and promotes professional excellence across Canada. For over 60 years, CHBA CI has represented homebuilders, renovators, trades, and suppliers. We work to advance housing affordability, provide technical education, and bring industry professionals together to build a stronger, more connected sector. We proudly lead the Training House program in partnership with Thompson Rivers University and YMCA BC, offering students hands-on training in real-world residential construction while supporting the Y Dream Home lottery fundraiser. What We Do: Advocate at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels Offer CPD training, technical workshops, and industry education Champion workforce development through trades training and youth outreach Organize events, networking, and awards for members Partner with TRU and YMCA BC to support both skills training and community impact As a non-profit, member-driven association, CHBA CI is committed to building better homes, stronger communities, and a sustainable future for the residential construction industry.
