About Canadian Myeloma Research Group
Canadian Myeloma Research Group (CMRG) is a Canada-wide network of researchers working to develop better treatments for extending life and enhancing the quality of life for those living with myeloma and other related disorders, with the ultimate goal of finding a cure for these diseases. CMRG is a global leader in myeloma research, made up of over 50 researchers across 30 research centres. We include clinicians, academic researchers and patients working together to design and conduct research that puts patient needs first. We engage in clinical trials for new drugs, new diagnostics and the promise of immunotherapy. CMRG has one of the largest and most comprehensive databases of myeloma patient outcomes in the world. Information is gathered on an ongoing basis from multiple sites across the country to help identify the optimal treatment approaches for myeloma, using high-quality, real-world evidence. The database provides evidence-based knowledge to drive better decisions in the healthcare system to catalyze new myeloma treatments. Because it is pan-Canadian, it can also provide insight into regional differences in myeloma treatment approaches and inform policy decisions made by the various funding agencies to ensure improvements are seen across the country.
