About Canadian Scholars
Canadian Scholars was founded in 1986 and is one of Canada's leading independent academic publishing companies. We remain one of a small number of firms publishing textbooks, scholarly works, and general interest. Women’s Press, Canada’s oldest English-language feminist publisher, was founded under collective ownership in 1972. It became an imprint of Canadian Scholars in 2000. CS Business Press is a newly launched imprint focused on publishing high-quality business textbooks for the Canadian post-secondary classroom. Featuring Canadian authorship, examples, and case studies, CS Business Press texts are concise and accessible for today’s students, emphasizing practical applications and real-world relevance. Designed to support instructors in delivering engaging and effective courses, our books integrate the latest industry insights and pedagogical best practices to prepare students for success in the modern business landscape. Our academic publishing program creates books that make a genuine and lasting contribution to the evolution of a wide variety of disciplines. We seek to foreground the work of leading Canadian scholars as well as up-and-coming academics, always paying special attention to editorial detail and quality of presentation. We are committed to maintaining our reputation for excellence in scholarship, research, and education, and we are proud to be celebrating 35 years of publishing.
