About Canal Cafeteria
Canal Cafeteria is a donation-based, volunteer-operated, grassroots organization in the Lower East Side, focused on bringing fresh, affordable fruits & veggies to the neighborhood through sliding scale produce bags. This year, we aim to open a brick and mortar space in the LES that provides a place that offers free groceries for low-income residents, low cost items for the rest of the community, and fosters community events and conversations.
