Vasily Karasyov started his career in equity research in 2006 on the #2 I.I. – ranked Internet Team which he joined to help launch coverage of the US media space. Over the next five years the team grew to become J.P.Morgan’s Global Internet and Media Team and was ranked #2 in Internet and Runner up in Media. Vasily was Vice President responsible for Media names. Vasily launched his own franchise after joining Susquehanna International Group in 2011. Prior to founding Cannonball Research in 2018 Vasily also covered US Media and Entertainment at Sterne Agee in 2013- 2015 and at CLSA Americas from 2015 until 2017. At these firms Vasily was one of the top ranked analysts in key US accounts. Prior to coming to Wall Street Vasily worked in Corporate Development at Sony Pictures Entertainment from 1999 to 2006, most recently as Executive Director. He was involved in multiple M&A and financing transactions, including film financing in motion pictures, domestic and international television as well as new media. Representative publicly announced transactions include leveraged acquisition of MGM for $4.8 billion and the sale of Telemundo to NBC for $2.9 billion. Vasily holds an MBA degree from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
