About Canopy Center
Canopy Center is a non-profit (501 C 3) organization. Canopy Center is a child abuse treatment and prevention agency created in 1977 by a young mother. She had been abused as a child and the impact this abuse was having on her own parenting methods led her to bring a national parent support group model to Madison. The agency started as a grassroots effort to serve families in Dane County. Over the past 40+ years, the agency has grown and changed in respect to research-based methodologies and prevailing needs of families in our community. Today, the Canopy Center serves hundreds of people annually through our programs - the Oasis family sexual abuse treatment program, CASA of Dane and Columbia Counties (CASA: Court Appointed Special Advocates), and the Parent to Child supervised visitation program.
