About Canotech

Canotech was founded in 1988 by father-son duo Bob and Ted Fardoe. With Ted’s smarts and Bob’s drive, the two would forge a new company working on northern construction projects. The perseverance and abilities needed for this demanding type of work were the crucibles on which Canotech would refine and hone their skills. Today, as a third-generation family-run company, Ted’s daughter and son, Alanna and Graeme Fardoe, along with Randy Bowles, continue to build upon the same foundation of innovation, drive, and excellence on which Canotech was originally established. Libraries, apartment buildings, condominiums, educational centres, warehouses, manufacturing plants and health care facilities begin the list of a diverse set of builds that fill out an impressive portfolio of work. Most significant is the work Canotech has performed for the community. Canotech has proudly completed recreational centres in Brandon and Portage, four of the five YMCA-YWCA facilities in Winnipeg. For Canotech, the importance of teamwork, competitiveness, and the love of sport sparks their passion and desire to contribute to a stronger community. Fundamental lessons learned from the court have served the Canotech team well. Their passion for leading ensures they get the most out of each sub-trade while their team-oriented approach promotes the most efficient, cost-effective methods that yield beautiful builds and positive experiences for clients and end-user groups. Canotech’s superpower is based on maximizing the value of each team member’s strength. The strong belief in teamwork provides a platform to support and mitigate risk and enhance opportunities for the success expected by all stakeholders and team members involved.
