About Capable Communities

Capable Communities Ltd is a Company Limited by Guarantee (Reg. 07153201 in the UK) and a Social Enterprise. We believe in the capability of voluntary and community groups to achieve positive social change. We want to help this process by strengthening groups so they can successfully compete with other sectors, win public sector contracts and deliver on an equal footing with the public sector. This may involve capacity-building, commercial development, fundraising, skills and workforce development, mentoring, research, event management, networking, project design, management and delivery. Most of the work we do is in the cultural, creative and community sectors, on a project level or on policy issues encompassing arts and sports, heritage, community engagement and cohesion, enterprise, tourism and eco-projects. We offer to work with you to develop individually tailored, project-based development plans aimed at achieving self-sustainability. Where capacity is a problem, we may assist with the delivery until your organisation is ready to take the reins. As a Social Enterprise, we reinvest all profits to the benefit of the community or community projects.
