About Capacity for Change

Capacity for Change is a National Family & Domestic Violence Training and Consultancy service, empowering workplaces to effectively respond to employees experiencing family & domestic violence. We are passionate about mobilising people, communities and workplaces to transform power structures and attitudes that drive gender-based violence. We believe that preventing family & domestic violence is everyone’s responsibility. The impact of violence against women can be directly seen in workplaces. Data suggests people who use violence interrupt a victim survivors' employment, increasing their feelings of isolation and shame. At Capacity for Change, we hope to encourage businesses to see the benefit of developing a greater understanding of family & domestic violence, how to respond to staff experiencing violence and create safe violence-free workplaces. When workplaces prioritise this issue, workplaces see clear increases in; - staff performance, productivity and morale -staff retention and presenteeism - organisational reputation and image. Our goal is to reach a wide and varied audience, create change through workplaces, encourage people to see that prevention is a shared responsibility and that our country has the capacity for change on this national scourge. At Capacity for Change we believe together we can build a better future for our community to live free from gender-based violence and it starts in the workplace.
