About Cape Resorts
We are a family of hotels providing welcome; offering superior service and impeccable standards in settings that are relaxed yet elegant, luxurious yet fun, building loyalty, value and tradition for our guests, community, employees and partners. More than 25 years ago Curtis Bashaw renovated and opened a small seaside hotel called The Virginia in Cape May, New Jersey. Comfortable, sophisticated and appropriate to its historic seaside setting, The Virginia has become recognized as the finest hotel in New Jersey and recently was named as one of the top 25 hotels in the United States by Condé Nast Traveler. In 1995, Mr. Bashaw teamed up with Craig Wood and formed Cape Advisors to acquire the iconic Congress Hall and restore it as the heart and soul of Cape May. Their partnership has spanned 20 years with Craig focusing on New York residential development and Curtis on hospitality. New projects soon followed, including the Beach Shack, Sandpiper and Star Inn in Cape May and the 67 room Baron’s Cove in Sag Harbor which opened in May of 2015.
