In late 2018 Little Athletics ACT and Athletics ACT committed to unifying into one body looking after the sport of Athletics in the ACT. Little Athletics ACT : Through Little Athletics, athletes are able to develop the skills of running, jumping, and throwing in a fun and social environment. The emphasis for young children participating in physical activity should be placed on self improvement and learning social skills to help address important issues such as child obesity, self image and esteem. The nature of Little Athletics encourages and requires parents to also be involved in the sport. Help make your children’s experience more rewarding by actively involving yourself in the activities at your local Centre. From simply raking the long jump pit right through to a President. Every little bit helps and your involvement will help improve the product that our Association tries to provide to all it’s members. Have fun, encourage your child to improve on their own performances and don’t be afraid to be actively involved in some capacity to help make the whole families experience is a positive one. Athletics ACT: Athletics ACT is the major provider of competitive athletics in the ACT and surrounding regions; and represents participants in recognised track, field events and ex stadia events. The Athletic ACT programs and competitions cater for all levels of able bodied and para athletes. Athletics ACT is an affiliated member of Athletics Australia and participates in, and hosts, national competitions and events. The Association also works collaboratively with ACT Masters Athletics, ACT Little Athletics and other athletics organisations through formal agreements and on an informal basis.
