About Capital Beltway Warriors Ice Hockey

Capital Beltway Warriors Ice Hockey Inc. is a Virginia based 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to organize and administer an ice hockey program that provides a recreational, therapeutic, and educational experiences for Veterans and Disabled Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. We have an all-volunteer, USA Hockey Certified staff to help get our Veterans on the ice and they work with other local Veteran Service Organizations to help Veterans get additional education, benefits, and opportunities that are provided by these organizations. Like a lighthouse for Veterans who may feel lost during their transition to civilian life, we provide purpose, direction, motivation, and education as well as a sense of camaraderie that our Veterans miss when they leave the service. To be eligible to participate with the organization, participants must be or have been Veterans and Members of the Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force or Coast Guard), with former members required to have been discharged under honorable or general conditions. Veterans with a Purple Heart or a 10% or greater VA rated disability are eligible to compete in our "Warrior" program for Disabled Standing Hockey. Warrior Hockey is one of the newest Disciplines in USA Hockey, Disabled Hockey Department and gives Warriors a chance to compete against other Warrior teams from across the country in two major National Tournaments each year.
