About Capital City Theatre
Capital City Theatre is Madison, Wisconsin's professional, Equity, musical theatre company. Our mission is to produce professional and engaging live musical theatre performances and educate aspiring and working musical theatre artists through our workshops, intensives and seminars. We strive to inspire audiences by connecting them with talented performers from both the Madison area and across the country, creating an experience that keeps audiences entertained, excited and coming back again and again. We will provide an annual season of high quality, professional musical theatre; We look forward to future collaborations with other professional arts organizations in the Madison area, and creating consistent work and incredible artistic opportunities for local actors, artists and designers, who call Madison home. Education and outreach are important to every member of the Capital City Theatre team and the "Find Your Light" musical theatre intensive program is the cornerstone of the Capital City Theatre educational foundation. In time, we plan to form a musical theatre academy that will train the Wisconsin musical theatre professionals and stars of tomorrow. Capital City Theatre has great plans for the future, but we know that in order to build something great, we must start small. Our inaugural season consists of four weeks of educational programming, four live fundraising events and one full scale production. Within 3-5 years we plan to bring you a season which includes four professionally staged musical theatre productions and showcases of Broadway performers and special guests in concerts and master classes. We will also commit ourselves to the development of new works of musical theatre, through workshops, readings, and staged performances.
