About Capitol Commission

Capitol Commission, in partnership with the church, is committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ and promoting the Biblical mandate to pray for those in authority in the Capitol communities throughout the United States and around the world. Our State Directors teach weekly verse-by-verse Bible Studies for legislators, lobbyists and staff members. These Bible studies are hand-distributed to each legislative office, emailed and made available throughout the capitol community. With events such as Pastors' Commission to the Capitol, legislators' prayer breakfasts and election-eve prayer walks. Churches are offered many opportunities to minister to their elected officials. We believe that the effectual prayer of the righteous for their leaders as St. Paul requested in his first letter to Timothy will result in 'living peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness." And this 'pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." Website blog, Pray1Tim2.org is dedicated to assisting people in praying for their legislators/political leaders. The website displays six legislative leaders each day for each state, which is dependent on the choice of the reader of the website. OR an email will be sent to each person who signs up to receive their state pictures, either each day or weekly.
