Michael Black was a seasoned and forward-thinking longline fisherman who built a reputation by selecting the finest catch from each trip to provide high-quality, fresh seafood to premier dining establishments. In 1987, he started selling seafood directly from a box truck, quickly earning a loyal customer base with his commitment to quality. By 1993, he expanded into a full scale processing facility, supplying customers nationwide. In 2021, Michael’s son, Jonathan Black, took the helm after his father’s passing from cancer. Driven to honor his father’s legacy, Jon launched a line of seafood products in 2024 under the Captain Black’s name, ensuring that Michael’s passion for quality and dedication to his craft continue to inspire. At Captain Black’s, our commitment to excellence is unwavering. We take pride in offering 100% natural seafood, free from chemicals, gases, and artificial powders used to retain color. Every product in our line is gluten-free, and wild-caught (with the exception of salmon). We never use fillers, ensuring that you get only the highest-quality seafood in every bite. Additionally, select products can be Kosher certified, meeting the highest standards of purity and preparation.
